Skin Alchemy Clinic, located in the charming village of Thaxted, is a fully licensed practice recognised by the local authority, Uttlesford District Council. Led by Carina Thurgood, a highly trained practitioner with qualifications from the NHS and VTCT, our clinic is dedicated to delivering exceptional, results-driven treatments.
Carina specialises in advanced cosmetic procedures, focusing on skin blemish removal, permanent hair removal, and hair restoration. With a passion for helping clients achieve their aesthetic goals, she combines her extensive training with a personalised approach to provide safe, effective, and transformative treatments. At Skin Alchemy Clinic, we are committed to enhancing your confidence and well-being.

At our Thaxted clinic, Carina offers a range of specialised treatments, including diathermy and cryotherapy for skin blemish removal, treating skin tags, blood spots, warts, and benign moles. I also provide permanent hair removal through electrolysis. With my NHS training as a phlebotomist, I am qualified to offer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy for hair loss, a solution that reactivates dormant hair follicles to encourage natural regrowth.
In addition to running my clinic, I am the CEO of a medical research charity focused on developing treatments for rare diseases, inspired by my daughter’s diagnosis with an ultra-rare condition. As the only known UK patient with this condition, I have spent over seven years fostering relationships and partnerships worldwide to pursue potential cures.
